Motionara is an artist-led production collective in Kerala working across film, documentary, performance, audio and research-driven media.
Why we exist
The work deserves more than documentation.
Great artistic and cultural work often reaches the camera too late — after the creative decisions have already been made. Motionara was built on a different idea: visual documentation should be part of the thinking, not merely evidence that something happened.
We collaborate with artists, theatre makers, cultural researchers, institutions and communities from the earliest useful point in the process. That means understanding context, developing the visual language, planning production, and carrying the work through post and delivery.
Our roots in Kerala give us lived familiarity with Malayalam language and the state’s diverse cultural ecosystems. Our practice is local in understanding and international in ambition.
